St. Vincent’s and ACMD Welcome Mayo Clinic Platform and Equal Innovation for the inaugural “Health AI Startup Showcase”

The Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery and St. Vincent’s Health Australia will hold first ever “Health AI Startup Showcase” on March 30-31.  Held in partnership with the Mayo Clinic Platform (MCP) and Equal Innovation, the event positions the Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery and St Vincent’s Melbourne Precinct as a global hub for health systems and emerging technology companies.

The invitation‑only event will feature 30-40 of Australia’s leading early‑stage health AI startups developing solutions across digital health, drug discovery, data platforms, and clinical workflow optimisation. Startup founders and executives will learn about the Mayo Clinic Platform and how to collaborate with them, engage directly with senior clinicians, health executives, and industry leaders and present their solutions to MCP and SVHA leadership.

The collaboration brings together one of the world’s leading healthcare institutions, the Mayo Clinic Platform, with St Vincent’s Health Australia’s extensive public and private hospitals footprint, along with the partners of ACMD including the University of Melbourne, RMIT, ACU, Swinburne University, Bionics Institute and St Vincent’s Institute.

The Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery (ACMD) is soon to officially open as a unique translational innovation hub for the region that brings together researchers, clinicians, engineers and industry partners.  Mayo Clinic Platform, launched out of the world-famous Mayo Clinic, contributes global experience in data‑enabled healthcare innovation, helping startups use data to train AI products that will improve patient outcomes and provider efficiency.

The event will include startup pitches, grand rounds and closed‑door working sessions focused on commercial readiness, health system adoption, and cross‑border collaboration.Melbourne was selected for its role as a national hub for medical research, digital health startups, and hospital‑based innovation, with the showcase underscoring growing international interest in Australia’s health technology ecosystem.
